In our continued efforts to take on the effects of poverty, and help those in crisis move toward a better life, our local conference of SVDP here at St. Pius X is pleased to bring two exciting programs to the area:
SVDP Pharmacy (offering free prescriptions to the uninsured)
However, it will take dedicated volunteers from our SPX Parish family to help make this happen. We encourage you to take a prayerful moment to consider if God is calling you to respond to these opportunities to serve Him and your neighbors.
All additional training (no longer than one hour) will be conducted onsite by Catholic Charities and the SVDP Pharmacy.
Catholic Charities Mobile Pantry
First Tuesdays of the month from 12:30 pm to 3 pm in the Upper Parking Lot by the SVDP House. We will need 14 volunteers each month to help with various tasks, including greeting our neighbors, assisting with registration on iPads, unloading and sorting produce, assisting the elderly/disables and monitoring the parking lot.

SVDP Free Pharmacy
We need volunteers (especially Bilingual) to assist all uninsured patients with the intake forms and documentation to access free medication supplied by the SVDP Pharmacy. All patient intake will occur at Mission East Dallas Family Health Clinic at 4550 Gus Thomasson Road and Oates Drive - just about one mile from SPX. Approximately two-hour shifts, preferably in the morning when the clinic is more crowded. The schedule can be flexible.
