We are parents. The St. Pius X School Advisory Council is an organization made up of school parents/guardians/grandparents who work closely with the pastor and school administration for the betterment of the school. This group helps to form the vision, find solutions to issues and celebrate the achievements of our school. Each spring applications are accepted to replace members rotating off the council.
The Council was established to perform three primary responsibilities:
1. Establishes and reviews school policies;
2. Establishes and monitors school budgets;
3. Develops and oversee implementation of the School's strategic plan. To see a copy of the strategic plan please choose
either English or Spanish.
There are other responsibilities, but these three are the most critical. All responsibilities are performed in an advisory capacity to the pastor and are carried out in accordance with the policies of the Catholic School, Advisory Board Administration regulations of the Catholic Schools Office of the Diocese of Dallas.
If you think you might be interested in taking part in this process, click here for an application form. All are invited to attend the Advisory meetings held the fourth Monday of each month except December. Please check the bulletin for room location and time.
An important part of participating in the school is our Family Service Policy. Below is a summary of that policy:
As we all know, parents and teachers work together for the benefit of all our children who attend St. Pius X School. A key factor in achieving this goal is parental involvement. Volunteer service also contributes to the fiscal soundness of our school. Your decision to send your children to St. Pius X shows your commitment to provide them with a quality education in a faith-based environment.
With this in mind, St. Pius X School has instituted a Family Service Program (formerly the Family Participation Policy) to encourage and promote volunteerism at our school. The expectation is that each family will commit to a minimum of 25 service hours each school year. Of the 25 hours required, it is mandatory that 10 hours be served in the school cafeteria or playground from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
