On Sunday, May 22, 2011, an EF-5 tornado hit the city of Joplin, Mo., was the deadliest single tornado since modern recordkeeping began in 1950 and is ranked as the 7th deadliest in U.S. history. The EF-5 Joplin tornado had winds in excess of 200 mph, was ¾ of a mile wide, and had a track lasting six miles. The people of Joplin need help to rebuild!! YOU can help...by becoming a part of FI.S.H. Camp 2012!!!
F.I.S.H. Camp is an unforgettable week, meant to CHALLENGE, INSPIRE, and AWAKEN A DESIRE to continue to serve God, by serving others, and learn more about justice issues. Participants will assist in rebuilding homes, in cooperation with Catholic Charities of Joplin, under the planning of “Catholic Mission Trips Inc.” (a mission trip company based in Allen, Texas). Evenings will be spent in fellowship, prayer, faith formation, social justice and Catholic Social Teaching education, fun activities and community interaction. Event open to 9th thru 12th graders 2011/2012...no experience needed! We DO NEED ADULTS that can work with POWER TOOL SKILLS!!!
