The purpose of the Vocations Chalice Program is to encourage families at St. Pius X Parish to pray for priestly and religious vocations and to increase awareness among families about the blessings of a vocation to the priesthood or religious life.
A family signs up to take a Vocations Chalice for one week and commits to praying every day that week for an increase in vocations to religious life, the priesthood and for all nuns, priests, deacons, and seminarians. A prayer booklet will be provided. When it is your family's week you will receive the Vocations Chalic at the end off Mass during the announcements. Then simply return the Vocations Chalice the following week when you come to Mass.
We have just completed one year with the Vocations Chalice Program (which Deacon Zach Webb started). We (Father Guadgnoli/Father Gonzales) and the Vocations Committee would like to thank all the families, who for this past year have accepted the commitment of taking the chalice home for a week to pray for and to talk to their families about vocations. We are so blessed to have a parish that loves to pray for vocations, for seminarians and novice religious.
The program will be back in the fall of 2011. If you are interested in participating in the Vocation Chalice Program in the future, please fill out the online form below and someone from the Vocations Committee will contact you to arrange a week for you and your family to receive the Vocations Chalice.
Please Note! You must be a registered member of the parish to receive the vocations chalice. If you need to register in our parish please click here.
