The Angelics (Advanced Girls’ Ensemble) The Angelics is a selected group of female singers at St. Pius X Catholic School under the direction of Michelle A. Crist. Not only are the girls strong singers with beautiful voices, each member must exhibit leadership qualities, a strong set of Christian values, and maintain strong academics.Auditions will are typically held in the spring before the upcoming school year. Any girls entering the 6th - 8thgrade are eligible to audition. (Any new female students that register for St. Pius during the summer or during the school year may audition as well.) The audition process requires a teacher recommendation; parent/guardian approval; and vocalizations. The Angelics is a one year (school year) commitment; however, if you are selected for the group, you can remain in the group until you graduate from SPX. Rehearsals are typically held during the last 25 minutes of school 2 times per week. Many girls in ensemble also participate in sports, cheerleading, drama, etc., as the rehearsal schedule works well with athletics and other extra curricular activities. All performance dates are announced at the beginning of the school year, and performances are MANDATORY. When The Angelics receive other invitations during the school year, we vote as a group before accepting the invitation to sing. A missed performance by an ensemble member will result in IMMEDIATE dismissal from The Angelics. If you are interested in having The Angelics sing for a special event or service, please contact Michelle A. Crist at mcrist@spxdallas.org. We would love to provide entertainment for your luncheons, company parties, or special ceremony. The girls maintain a wide variety of repertoire – songs from The Messiah, Broadway, other sacred melodies, and pop. We would love to help make your event special and hope to hear from you soon. |
