To enter kindergarten, a child must be five years old by September 1st or six years old by September 1st to enter first grade. All other grade level entries require documentation of legitimate grade placement from an accredited school. When necessary, the date of birth will be used in placement.
REGISTRATION FOR NEW STUDENTS
New students seeking admission to St. Pius X School should come by the school office for help. In addition to the registration form and required fees, the following must be provided to complete the registration process:
1. Birth certificate
2. Copy of last report card for Grades 1 - 8
3. If applicable, Catholic Baptismal Certificate (if not baptized at St. Pius)
4. Copy of the immunization records
5. First Communion record for grades 2 - 8
NOTE: If a new student is registering in grades 2 to 8, transcripts are sent from the originating school to SPX School Office. A parent may have to sign a release form at the student(s) current school before they will send this information to SPX.
Every effort is made to admit students that have a reasonable chance to perform as a successful student at St. Pius X School. In this effort the following will be reviewed for each new student. 1. Academics and conduct.
2. St. Pius X placement assesment results.
3. Developmental, behavioral and/or psychological information provided by SPX counselor and/or other professionals, including communication from previous schools.
RETURNING STUDENT REGISTRATION
Each student registers yearly to insure a place in the school the following academic year. Prior to the registration deadline, registration forms will be made available to those families who currently have children enrolled in St. Pius X School. To insure a place in the school, forms and all applicable fees must be returned by the deadline.
All families who desire to register a student must be in “good standing” and shall comply with the following requirements:
“Good Standing” for returning families requires the following:
1. Tuition loan payments are current, including any late fees.
2. Outstanding balances/fees due to other parish organizations must be reconciled (Daycare, School Supplies, Cafeteria, etc.).
Good Standing” for new families requires that any outstanding balances/fees due to other parish organizations must be reconciled.
TUITION RATES
Tuition rate requirements apply to both new and returning students. In order to receive the St. Pius X parishioner rate, a new student's family must meet the same requirements as a returning students family. St. Pius X offers four tuition rates. A family in good standing must also meet the rate requirements.
Non-Parishioner Rate
1. At least one parent and the student must be Catholic
Non-St. Pius Parishioner Rate
1. At least one parent and the student must be Catholic
2. The parent must be registered at another Catholic church that does not have a school
3. A letter from that church confirming registration in good standing at that church
Parishioner Rate
1. At least one parent and the student must be Catholic
2. The tithing pledge from the preceding year has been fulfilled ($500 minimum annually)
3. A signed pledge card for the present year has been submitted to the Church Office
Non-Catholic Rate
1. All other situations fit into this category
For each of the first three rates to apply, a Baptismal Certificate is required.
PRIORITY OF ADMISSION
Admission to St. Pius X School shall be determined at the end of the Registration period by the Admissions Committee, which is appointed by the Pastor. Qualified students will be admitted in the following order:
A. A PARISH TUITION FAMILY in “good standing” with a sibling presently in the school.
B. FAMILIES WITH A SIBLING presently in the school.
C. A PARISH TITHING FAMILY in “good standing” who is a new applicant to the school and has completed the registration process, with the longest tithing parishioner in “good standing” given priority.
D. CATHOLIC SCHOOL TRANSFER STUDENTS whose families are in “good standing” at their previous school/parish and have completed the registration process and are deemed eligible.
E. A NON-PARISH TUITION FAMILY which is current with respect to all financial commitments at their home parish and/or previous school. 1. Has a parent or sibling that graduated from St. Pius X School.
2. New applicant to school who has completed the registration process. In the event that two or more families fall under this category, a random drawing will be held to determine priority of admission.
F. NON-CATHOLIC TUITION FAMILY which is current with respect to all financial commitments at their home church and/or previous school.
