John Barthel in January 2006

BARTHEL, JOHN E. worked as an architect for the firm of Belli and Belli in Chicago before joining the Dahl firm in Dallas.  Dahl's office was at St. Paul and Woodall Rodgers Freeway but the building is no longer there.  John is the primary designer of the church and rectory which is widely recognized for the striking beauty.  John retired in 1991.

This is a very extraordinary man, his art work is simply beautiful and includes oil, pen and ink, and sculpture.  Among his many accomplishments, John built his house in North East Dallas in 1959.  This house received the 25 Year Residential Award from ArchitectureWeek in 2002.  For additional details on that honor, please visit the following web site:  http://www.architectureweek.com/2002/1002/news_1-1.html
